A Picture-Perfect Day on the Trail

Some days on the trail are good, and some are downright unforgettable. Our recent run on the Smiley Rock trail falls firmly into the latter. With the sun shining bright and not a cloud in sight, we couldn’t have asked for better weather to hit the dirt.

Foxy Lady Handles Business

The air was crisp and clear as we rolled out in Foxy Lady, our trusty Jeep that once again proved she’s built for the rough stuff. From loose gravel to boulder-strewn climbs, she tackled every stretch of the trail with confidence and ease. Smiley Rock offers no shortage of rugged terrain, but Foxy Lady handled it like a champ.

Trail Highlights and the Iconic Smile

The trail itself was everything we hoped for—challenging in all the right ways, with sweeping views and plenty of scenic stops. The namesake rock, with its iconic “smile,” was a fun waypoint, but it was the journey beyond that really stole the show.

A Mountaintop Ending to Remember

We wrapped up the day at a scenic mountaintop campsite overlooking Chino Valley, just as the sun was beginning to set. The sky lit up in warm, golden hues, and the wide-open vista was absolutely stunning. With the cool evening breeze settling in and a fire cracking in the pit, it was the perfect end to a perfect day.
